TURMERIC: A Major Breakthrough
TURMERIC: A Major Breakthrough
We’ve had an exciting and very informative journey with Turmeric this past year.
Bo (Gina’s son) met a Bio Chemist on a flight. He is a consultant for several pharmaceutical companies. Bo got his email address and we’ve been communicating with him. He sent us an overview of the Turmeric research that they are doing including some of the earlier research at UCLA. There’s a lot to the research, but 2 things really stand out: 1. 47% of people living in the United States have Alzheimer’s at age 85. In India only 4 to 6% have Alzheimer’s at 85…Huge difference! What do the people of India eat in their diet everyday? Turmeric. 2. The body has a hard time assimilating the Curcumin in the Turmeric which is the compound that is so important for improving health. There has been ongoing research trying to find the right compounds to help the body absorb the Curcumin. Black pepper has shown the most promise.
